Riding Across Saudi Arabia 🏍️
I just returned from two unforgettable weeks in Saudi Arabia—my gift to myself after selling my business—and it DID NOT disappoint. 🎁🔥
Seven of those days were spent riding motorcycles through the desert with friends. 🏍️ We traversed nearly the entire length of the country, from Yemen to Jordan, experiencing every landscape the Kingdom has to offer. 🌍 We weaved through dunes and lava fields, ripped across vast, uninterrupted flats, drew curious crowds in remote villages, and camped beneath an endless canopy of stars. 🌌🏕️ We laughed the entire time, and more than once, I had to pinch myself to believe it was real.
I live a blessed life, and extraordinary experiences seem to find me often. ✨ But this—this was on another level. 🚀 I saw parts of a country few have ever laid eyes on, Saudis included. I did it in the company of some of the best guys I know, and by some miracle, we all made it out in one piece. 🙌
And let me tell you—making it out in one piece wasn’t exactly a given. At least not for me. 😅
I was, by far, the least experienced rider in the crew. Before setting off on this 1,000-mile desert crossing, the sandiest terrain I had ever tackled was a gravel road. Imagine spending a week skiing with friends who only hit double blacks—when the toughest run you've ever done is a blue. 🎿 That was me.
The guys gave me some solid advice: "Don't look down, and when in doubt, throttle out." 💨 Simple, right? I also prayed—a lot. 🙏 Every time we stopped, I felt like I had just dodged a bullet.
And yet, I loved every second of it. ❤️
The challenge made the experience infinitely richer. 💪 Sure, there were moments I questioned my sanity, but I was always grateful to be in it. Over the course of the week, I danced on the edge of my comfort zone—and then blasted right through it. 🚀 That edge is much farther out now, and I feel stronger, more capable, and more alive than I have in a long time.
We are all far stronger and more capable than we think. 💥 Our brain and ego constantly try to protect us, but we are bigger than both. We are capable of nearly anything we ask of ourselves. Playing small to appease fear is not why we were put on this earth. 🌎 We are meant to be great, to have an impact, and as Marcus Aurelius put it, “to run toward what our nature demands.” ⚡
This ride across Saudi Arabia stands as one of the greatest adventures of my life—a journey that tested me, expanded me, and left an indelible mark. 💫 And it was the challenge that made it truly unforgettable.
Massive gratitude 🙏 to my brothers Hamza, Yousef, Q, Jalal, Baker, and Hakeem (FTG) for pushing me beyond what I thought possible on a motorcycle. 🏍️🔥
