Canyon Rite

A Misogi + Vision Quest Retreat

September 24 - 27, 2025 | Escalante, Utah

Four days of laughter, challenge, deep stillness, and soul-stirring landscape. You’ll push your body. You’ll listen to your spirit. And you’ll walk away changed.

What to Expect

  • Arrivals begin mid-afternoon in the red rock country of Escalante. You’ll settle into camp and take a moment to exhale. You’ve made it.

We’ll gather by the river for a refreshing plunge in the swimming hole, a playful initiation to wash off the world you came from and wake up your senses.

From there, we’ll do a little grounding - lighthearted but meaningful. Expect presence, breath, and a moment to connect to the land, each other, and yourself.

Dinner is at the James Beard Award winning Hell’s Backbone Grill, where high-desert ingredients meet five-star flavors. Afterward, we circle up around the campfire under a vast sky of stars. You’ll hear stories, share laughs, and start to feel the rhythm of something ancient settling in.

  • We rise early, lace up our boots (or ditch them), and step into the wild corridor of the Escalante River, hiking its length in a full-day Misogi challenge. This is not a typical trail. Expect to be wet, sun-kissed, and joyfully dirty.

You’ll walk through flowing water, scramble over slickrock, wade under sandstone arches, and pass through towering canyon walls, all while moving through your own edge.

This Misogi is not about performance. It’s about presence. The water will cool you. The silence will speak to you. The effort will strip away what doesn’t matter.

We end the day dusty, sun-tired, and deeply alive - rewarded with a feast at Boulder Mountain Guest Ranch, where we kick off our shoes, toast to the journey, and share the kind of laughter that only comes after miles.

  • Today, the energy shifts. We intentionally slow down.

After a morning of light preparation, you’ll head out on a solo vision quest finding your own spot in nature to sit, walk, journal, or just be. You’ll have everything you need to stay safe and supported, and the rest is up to the land and your inner voice.

This is where the real clarity begins to emerge. Beneath the movement and noise, something true waits to be remembered.

As the sun begins to lower, we gently return to camp, where you’ll be welcomed back into community with a nourishing, grounding meal, time for integration, and a campfire circle to share what surfaced - in your own time, your own way.

  • We wake slowly, sip coffee as the desert wakes with us, and head to Kiva Koffeehouse, perched on the edge of the canyon, for one last communal breakfast.

Then, it’s time for one final adventure - a short but steep hike to Upper Calf Creek Falls, where we cliff dive, ride a natural water slide, and let the water seal in all we’ve opened. Expect joy. Expect cold water. Expect to never want to leave.

We close with a celebratory lunch at Hell’s Backbone Grill - honoring the challenge, the stillness, and the people who now feel like brothers.

Then, we part ways - full-hearted, clear-eyed, and reconnected to something real.

Who This is For

This is for men from all walks of life who feel the pull to pause - to step away from the grind, the noise, and the endless doing, and to listen for what’s next.

It’s for those craving adventure with meaning - not just movement for movement’s sake, but momentum with soul behind it.

It’s for men who want to reconnect with nature, their truth, and other strong humans in an environment where ego fades, laughter flows, and depth is welcome.

It’s also for those seeking something deeper and more memorable - a real taste of what it means to be fully alive. That includes a joyful, primal physical challenge that tests your edge; time alone on the land to remember who you are beneath it all; the kind of good old-fashioned fun that includes cliff dives, campfires, cold plunges, and belly laughs; and, perhaps most of all, a deeper remembering of the wild, wise, present part of you that has always been there, waiting for space to speak.

You don’t need to be an ultra-athlete or seasoned seeker. You just need to be willing to show up - fully, openly, and ready to leave different than you came.

Who This is NOT For

This isn’t a luxury getaway or a curated Instagram moment.
It’s not for those seeking comfort, control, or constant convenience.

Canyon Rite is for men who are ready to let go, get dusty, get sweaty, get honest, and find clarity through experience, not just conversation.

You don’t have to be the most fit, most spiritual, or most experienced guy in the group. But you do have to be open. Open to challenge. Open to silence. Open to connection. Open to being cracked open. Because that’s where the gold is.

Please Note: This retreat includes a full day of hiking. While there will be plenty of breaks beneath cottonwood trees and towering canyon walls, participants should be physically prepared for a full day on their feet in a wilderness setting.

What You’ll Walk Away With

You’ll leave with dust on your boots, sun on your face, and something ancient stirred awake inside you.

You’ll walk away with:

  • A renewed connection to nature - not just as scenery, but as teacher.

  • A clearer sense of what matters most - stripped of the noise and distraction.

  • A reminder of your physical strength and grit - earned through movement, effort, and joy.

  • A moment of stillness that echoes - long after you’ve returned home.

  • New brothers - men you’ve hiked, laughed, sat in silence, and shared firelight with.

  • And a powerful sense that you’ve crossed a threshold - that something in you has shifted… for good.

Whether this is the beginning of something new or a return to what you’ve always known, you won’t be the same man who arrived.

“Beneath the canyon walls, something ancient wakes up. Not a new version of you, but the real one. The one who feels the earth beneath his feet and remembers what it means to be fully alive, the version of you that doesn’t need fixing, just space to breathe.”
